Summer Sips in Review: Sinocan Supply Inc. In-Store Tasting Highlights
As summer sunlight fell on street corners and chilled glasses met with rising aromas, Sinocan Supply Inc. spent this summer visiting liquor stores across the city, meeting old and new friends over a glass at one relaxed, heartfelt in-store tasting after another.
From delicate Japanese sake to fruit wines of many flavours, from classic mellow whisky to the profound depths of Yanghe — every tasting was an exchange about flavour, culture and the good life. Those moments of stopping to savour, pieced together, became the tipsy memories of this summer.
A Taste of Japan to Open a Cool Summer Moment
Sake is a subtle yet resonant chapter of Japanese drinking culture. It never rushes to please the palate with intensity; instead, it slowly unfolds the warmth of rice, the elegance of aroma and the delicacy of body with every sip.
At the Chiyogen tasting, many guests moved from first-sip curiosity to the pleasure of savouring. Served chilled, its crispness melted away the summer heat, while gentle rice aromas and a clean finish revealed sake’s distinctive restraint and balance. Some pours were light and lively, perfect for easy drinking; others were fuller and more layered, worth lingering over at the table.

The rice fragrance and delicate texture of Goriki 50 sake suit a lazy summer afternoon; the Ultra Yuzu fruit wine, with its bright, vivid yuzu character, surprised first-time explorers of Japanese drinks; and the Craft Kurabito whisky showed a more layered side, inviting guests to discover each pour’s distinct personality.

Many guests shared their impressions after tasting and showed keen interest in food pairings, serving temperatures and flavour profiles. Through every tasting, we hope more friends discover that sake is not distant, nor confined to the Japanese dinner table — it pairs beautifully with the sweetness of seafood as well as fried snacks, barbecue and light summer bites; it suits a toast among friends, and equally a quiet moment alone to close the day.
With Lingering Fragrance in the Glass: Savouring Yanghe’s Mellow Aroma
If sake brought elegance and lightness, the Yanghe tastings let guests feel the warmth and depth of Chinese baijiu in its mellow fragrance.
This summer, Sinocan Supply Inc. presented Yanghe Daqu, Yanghe New Sky Blue and Yanghe Ocean Blue. Each has its own character, yet all carry Yanghe’s signature mellow, harmonious and comfortable style, so drinkers of every habit could find their own glass.

A glass of Yanghe is the sediment of classic flavour — rich in aroma, mellow on the palate, long in the finish. It tells the story of traditional baijiu unhurriedly: made for slow sipping and for sharing around a table with family and friends. For those who know Chinese baijiu, it is the mellow fragrance of memory; for first-timers, a wonderful first encounter with Chinese baijiu.
Through tasting and conversation, guests came to appreciate the rich possibilities of Chinese baijiu in craftsmanship, aroma layers and food pairing — and gradually discovered that the charm of baijiu lies not only in the joy of a hearty gulp, but in the warmth of human connection passed back and forth between cups.

Every Toast Is a Beautiful Encounter
Looking back on this summer, each tasting may have been just a brief gathering in daily life, yet made vivid by everyone’s presence, toasts and sharing.
Thank you to every friend who came to taste, to every partner liquor store for their support, and to every sincere exchange sparked by good wine. Sinocan Supply Inc. has always believed that the meaning of a good glass lies not only in its flavour, but in the chance it gives people to pause, share a moment, and draw a little closer.
Summer will pass, but the lingering fragrance stays in memory. Sinocan Supply Inc. will bring more tasting events in the future — we look forward to seeing you at the next toast.
