Yanghe Daqu is a clear, colorless spirit with a distinct strong aroma. Its taste, characterized by a rich alcohol content, leaves a refreshing aftertaste that lingers, showcasing its strong, distinctive flavor profile. This beverage is celebrated for its unique attributes: “color, fragrance, freshness, thickness, and alcohol content.” Notably, its “sweet entry, full-bodied palate, soft wine texture, cool sensation, lasting aftertaste, and hint of spiciness” make it renowned both in China and internationally.
Yanghe Daqu’s premium quality stems from its primary ingredient, high-quality sorghum, combined with wheat, barley, and peas. These ingredients undergo a unique fermentation process with the aid of a high-temperature fire melody agent and are enhanced by the renowned beauty spring technique. A distinguishing feature of its traditional preparation includes fermenting in aging cellars for 60 days. The grain husk serves as the fermenting medium and is fully steamed. From start to finish, the wine is meticulously processed—its initial and final portions are separated, while the middle part undergoes rigorous quality checks before storage and final packaging.
